Ilyushin IL-62
In 1962 the Soviet Union launched the worlds largest Airliner, the Ilyushin IL-62, this iconic aircraft was designed to be able to fly from Moscow to any of the USSR's allies, making it truly outstanding as unlike it's Western Counterparts, the Big Russian couldn't just touchdown anywhere to refuel, in fact it had the range to reach Havana in Cuba without stopping, giving it a genuine rage in excess of 17,000 km. The IL62 which in 1964 became the IL62-M, continued in production until 1996, making it the longest production run in History of a commercial Airliner. Presented here is the Original IL62 with 4x Kusnetsov NK-8 turbofan engines. Lovingly crafted to allow you to experience first hand the beauty of flying with cable controls (no hydraulics here) and analogue guages.
